WHAT WE DO

Edosystems, Inc. is a nonprofit company dedicated to improving K-12 education and the American K-12 educational system. Our mission is to enhance educational opportunities (edos™ ) for children and youth, making them more competitive in global markets. We work with a wide range of audiences, including school superintendents and their management staff, teachers, parents, educational foundations, student activists, K-12 researchers, academic think tanks, educational consultants, government, and political leaders focused on improving K-12 educational services and academic outcomes.


Edosystems, Inc. provides personalized consulting and interactive forums. strategic planning sessions, and resource toolkits for educators and those concerned with the practical transformation of the American K-12 system.  We provide

 edosystem training for educators, school board members, and concerned individuals and agencies focused on strengthening K-12 education and making it more productive than it has been in the past 40 years.


Edosystems, Inc. sets itself apart from other nonprofits with similar missions by creating a unique educational framework and methods to promote positive educational mindset shifts and remove educational pollution from the K-12 edosystem™. The organization aims to elevate the academic outcomes of K-12 youth by creating healthier edosystem™ environments at the local level with minimal federal support and greater involvement from a dedicated citizenry that places the needs of students and teachers first so that academic performance and school environments thrive.


Edosystems, Inc.'s overarching goal is to improve the K-12 education system and create a sustainable environment for high-quality teachers and higher-performing students in the global marketplace.

Dr. Melissa Cadet Watkins

Dr. Melissa Cadet Watkins, President and CEO of Edosystems, Inc., is a veteran educator, executive manager, strategic planner, and champion of K-12 educational transformation. She was the former CEO of the Marin City Community Development Corporation, the first female and African American to serve as CEO of the California Small School Districts Association (2007), the first African American President of the California State University Alumni Association, and Assistant Superintendent of the Sacramento City Unified School District (SCUSD). A prolific fund developer, Dr. Cadet Watkins secured over $700 million for her clients and employers. She created the California Surplus Food Program, which today distributes millions of dollars of surplus food to needy California families each year. She co-founded the national Parent Teacher Home Visiting Program and replicated it in 18 states.

 

Dr. Watkins helped restore the California Healthy Start Program and, single-handedly, secured over $50 million to provide equitable support services for SCUSD children, parents, and teachers. She co-created the billion-dollar Sahel Economic Development Program with Congressman Charles Diggs, which provided over $1 billion in food aid and economic development assistance to six West African countries. As Vice President of Finance for River West Developments and CEO of NeighborWorks Sacramento, she coordinated the building of housing for thousands of families in Northern California. She was featured in Prentice Hall Publishers’ A Few Good Women and received the Association of California School Administrators’ Silver Star Award. She holds a B.A. degree in economics from Stanford University, a master’s degree in economics and international affairs from California State University, Sacramento, and a Ph. D. in educational economics from the University of California, Davis.
